It is a blessing to be the Principal at North Cove Elementary School. I have been serving as a principal for 8 years. Prior to that, I was an assistant principal for 4 years and a math teacher for 13 years. I am a graduate of Mitchell High School in Mitchell County. Following high school, I attended and played basketball and baseball for Warren Wilson College and earned my B.A. in Education with a certification in Mathematics. From there, I attended Western Carolina University and earned my M.A. in Middle Grades Math. Finally, I attended Appalachian State University and earned my M.A. in School Administration.
My family is very supportive of my professional career and are supreme contributors to my success as an educator. Included in my family is my wonderful wife Nicole and my 3 incredible children (Macy-9, Brody-8, and Koby-4). Needless to say there is never a dull moment at the Slagle house.
When I have extra time (whatever that means), I love to exercise (ride my bike and swim) and I enjoy coaching basketball and baseball for my kids. Also, we are very involved with our church family.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and I promise to serve you to the best of my ability!
